Vintage logos
I ‘m a big nerd when it comes to anything vintage. I’ve been a little bit obsessed with the idea of having a Victorian style badge/logo for a few years. I finally got around to making a few and realised that it’s pretty difficult to use considering my branding. Intricate vintage logos don’t really match up with cartoons and motion graphics. Nevertheless, I love it and will probably feature it in my office at some point or have it printed on a mug.
Wakelet
W e’re just finishing up a video for Wakelet. It’s been a long time in the making due to a big change to the structure of the video mid-away through the project. It should be published over the next week or so. It’s the life story of a Wakelet user told without a voice-over.
The Wakelet team seem like a really decent bunch of people and Misbah, who was my point of contact, is a really great guy. It’s been an absolute pleasure to work with them. And the Wakelet platform is great! I’m planning to start using it regularly as a production blog to keep clients up to date.
Lost Marble Collage
I ‘ve finally started visual production on a Lost Marble project that I’ve had floating around in my head for at least a year now. It’ll be a mixed media, collage video that includes my wife, myself, a Viking ship and some walking TVs. Ze Frank will be the narrator and the whole thing will have a bit of a French-artsy vibe to it.
The inspiration for this one has come from lots of places but mostly old Monty Python animations.
In the end, it’ll be a nice promotional piece for the business and something to pitch when trying to entice clients to try out a similar style.
Get On Site
W e’re just about ready to start production on a video for GetOnSite. We’re using a simple hand drawn approach using black, white and yellow animated illustrations. Get On Site offer a way for construction sites to have their teams go through their health and safety inductions before arriving on site. So, this one will have a very down-to-earth, simple style and probably a rough, blokey sounding voice-over.
It should be complete and published within a month.
All this, along with a new project starting next week and three more in the negotiation stage should mean that March/April is a busy month!
