It’s that most wonderful time of the year once again…What? Christmas? Bah! Humbug! I’m referring to the time when all the muggles wander off to celebrate, swap presents, drink themselves silly and most importantly, allow us some uninterrupted time off. We’ve flipped the sign on the office door to ‘closed’ and disappeared, turning off our phones and ignoring our emails.
Have fun! See you in 2024! We’ll be back in the office, drinking too much coffee, eating biscuits, taking endless calls and making keyframes from January 2nd!
Every year before I break up for the holidays, I post up a video showing a fictitious street on which can be found the Victorian-esque Lost Marble office (in reality, it’s simply a room in my house). I’ve never actually taken the time to explain what it’s all about or who all of the characters are… So, in case if you’re in the slightest bit interested…
The street itself was a rough sketch in Procreate. The shop windows contain screens displaying various videos and animation reels. In the lower right window, you can see me working by candle light, slurping coffee to stay awake. The passing characters and some of the vehicles are from animations we have been commissioned to produce over the years along with a few from some personal projects. This is the reason why they all vary in style so much.
