From paper cut-outs to modern animation: over two decades of making things move.

Hi, I’m Lee.
I started Lost Marble Media with a simple idea: stories matter, and how you tell them matters just as much. In the early days, I cut my teeth filming and editing live events, learning the rhythms of real-world storytelling before experimenting with paper cut-out explainer videos—physically building narratives frame by frame. That hands-on, tactile start shaped the way I still think about animation today: nothing is automated for the sake of it, and every choice must serve the story.

As the work evolved, I moved fully into digital animation. Based in the North East of England, I’ve kept Lost Marble intentionally small and flexible, adapting alongside the industry without losing our core identity. Today, I blend human-led animation with carefully chosen tools and AI where they genuinely add value. It allows me to speed up production and keep costs fair, while ensuring every project remains custom, collaborative, and personal.

Over two decades later, the principle remains exactly the same as it was at the beginning: work hard, be nice to people, and make animation that actually means something.
