Lost Marble Media began with a simple idea: stories matter, and how you tell them matters just as much. In the early days, the studio cut its teeth filming and editing live events, learning the rhythms of real-world storytelling before experimenting with paper cut-out explainer videos — physically building narratives frame by frame. That hands-on, tactile start shaped the way we still think about animation today: nothing is automated for the sake of it, and every choice should serve the story.

As the work evolved, Lost Marble moved fully into digital animation, refining a process built around clarity, creativity, and craft. Based in the North East of England, the studio has stayed intentionally small and flexible, adapting alongside the industry without losing its identity. Today, we blend human-led animation with carefully chosen AI tools where they genuinely add value — speeding up production and expanding creative possibilities — while keeping every project custom, collaborative, and personal. The principle remains the same as it was at the beginning: work hard, be nice to people, and make animation that actually means something.
