Although motion graphics covers a wide variety of styles of animation, we usually refer to the above style as ‘motion graphics’. Some refer to the style as animated vector graphics.
It’s a particularly useful style for those businesses that don’t want anything too light hearted or cartoonish to represent their brand image but also don’t want to have a less than entertaining promotional video. A story is told via a voice-over and through a series of entertaining, moving graphics rather than through characters, slides or a presenter.
As seen above, motion graphics can also bring to life live action footage. As mentioned, it might not be the best idea to have your video consist of a professional looking presenter talk to the camera for 5 minutes but adding motion graphics into the mix works extremely well.
